Hey There, My Name is
Olivia
I never really thought about hiring a doula for my pregnancies until 41 weeks when I was risking out of my second son’s birth center birth plan. After losing my husband at 9 weeks during my second pregnancy, having no one else to support me, I reached out to three different doulas and luckily was able to hire Gray to be my support person for my hospital induction that night. Now, recommending hiring a doula is one of the first things I mention to anyone and everyone I see that is pregnant.
PRENATAL
Prenatal doula support starts with friendly and welcoming meetings, focused on helping you to feel prepared for labor and birth. We take time to explore comfort measures that you might want to use. During prenatal visits we can practice various techniques.
During this time we also make space to talk about your and your partner’s worries. And answer questions and fears with evidence-based knowledge.
BIRTH
Birth doula support during labor continues for as long as you need it, whether you have a fast precipitous birth or a long drawn-out labor, you will be supported. This support is for birthing couples, not just moms. Partners benefit tremendously from birth doula support.
Being there for you during your birth means a judgement-free support with decision-making and advocacy for you to feel autonomy over your options and choices.
POSTPARTUM
After birth, I come and support your family during the precious post-birth period. From helping establish a comfortable breastfeeding routine, and addressing any challenges that may arise, to supporting inclusive feeding methods such as bottle-feeding or pumping, my goal is to empower you as you navigate this beautiful bonding experience with your baby. I also provide emotional support, practical assistance, and evidence-based information to help you adjust to your new role as parents.
